Missing Meeka!

REUNITED: In 30 minutes

Minutes after being let outside into the fenced-in backyard, Meeka the Husky, dug her way out under the fence! But thanks to her AKC Reunite collar tag, a good Samaritan, and our 24/7 Reuniters Helpline, Meeka was reunited the same day!

“My husband and I were both home getting work done around the house,” said Lisa, Meeka’s owner. “While I was at the kitchen table going through bills and such, I received a text message from AKC Reunite about Meeka being found. I was honestly shocked because my husband was in the backyard where our dog would normally be!”

Sneaky Meeka discovered how to dig her way out of the fenced-in back yard and did it so quickly, no one in her family even knew she was missing until AKC Reunite pinged Lisa’s phone! Thankfully, after Meeka’s escape, a kind neighbor found the dog and after seeing her AKC Reunite collar tag phoned our 24/7 Reuniters Helpline.

“As soon as I received AKC Reunite’s text notification, I called the number provided in the message, it rang our neighbors on the next street up,” said Lisa. “When I walked over, they had Meeka leashed and she was lounging with them on their front porch eating treats! While I was speaking with the neighbors and going to retrieve my dog, both my husband and I received phone calls as well from AKC Reunite.”

“Once Meeka was home safely, I called AKC Reunite back and let the representative know that she was home and that the case could be closed! It was a great experience for our pup and family and we are so grateful to have our sweet girl back home!”
